Elliot Sabine: 7 Months Old

Elliot at 7 Months:

*Sleeping like a champ again (*knock on wood)

Still experimenting with solid food; still not a huge fan, but getting closer...

Standing like a boss. 

Babbling sounds developing this adorable inflection + squealing is the new black.

Likes: snuggling & kissing all the time (I hope this phase never ends!!), shrieking at Miette (who now wants nothing to do with her), practicing standing & testing her balance, looking out the window, pulling down curtains, carrots (who knew?!), mirrors, afternoons on blankets in the sun, sipping water from a sippy cup (or just gnawing on it), napping on schedule (yay!), watching big kids with awe & amazement, typing important documents and correspondences, encouraging all of her friends to check out her Mom's new adult art classes at the DAC!, shameless plugs for Mom's new job, the tune of the ABCs & Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star (it's the same tune, you guys) and as always, any variation on the classic game of peekaboo.

Dislikes: GRASS, seriously, sitting in a field of luscious grass on a warm day is this girl's achilles heel apparently (again, who knew?!), when iphones or eyeglasses get taken away from her, being forced to eat that which is not a boob when the easterly winds are flowing toward the south (what I mean to say is, sometimes she's on board & other times just... nope.), the sound of the blender & other unexpected noises and watching that cat just laying there peacefully sleeping...

Elliot Sabine: 6 Months Old

Elliot at 6 Months:

Teething like a tame animal these days. Still no teeth.

Sleeping through the night when she feels like it.

Experimenting with solid food, but still not sold on this whole non-boob eating thing.

Rolling, sitting, crawling & even downward-facing-dog-almost-standing, you guys!

Babbling on hold somedays while mastering her astounding months-early physical feats, but "bobo," "mama" & "dada" sounds are still favorites.

Laughter: can you bottle this stuff?

Likes: snuggling to her Mom's extreme content, touching & grabbing various textures, (speaking of grabbing--) scaring the bejeezus out of her good friend, Miette, staying up way too late for Holiday parties and finally playing with humans her own size, listening to modern indie rock/pop, eating the Wind in the Willows, graceful hand movements, bananas (if these people insist on this whole "eating solid food thing"), grabbing faces, "kissing" Mom & Dad (or just kind of putting their faces in her mouth, but it gets the job done) and showing this ever emerging mischievous side of her personality where she wears her Mom's patience super thin & then looks her right in the eye and acts completely aware and giggly about what she is doing. 

Dislikes: BEING STILL FOR DIAPER CHANGES, BECAUSE CRAWLING IS SO COOL (the diapering station has moved to the floor to give baby a leg up in this battle, although a stern voice and letting baby play with the "forbidden item" of Mom's glasses is slowly but surely making Mom the boss again in this department), putting clothes on, because did I mention how cool crawling is (?!), napping on days when Mom could especially use the break and staying in the designated baby-approved areas or limiting her playthings to baby toys. Pfft, as if!
